A Somewhat Hard Day

We had to start today off by making the decision to take our oldest animal (our cat, Hammer) to be put to sleep. She was almost 18 and getting VERY skinny, weak, and senile(is this possible for a cat?). So started the morning with letting the kids know and having them say their goodbyes was heartbreaking. And even though you KNOW in your heart you're doing the humane thing, wow, that was hard! My oldest went to school teary-eyed (wish I could have let her stay home) but my middle child looked at it in a totally different light. The first words out of her mouth were, "Now we can get a neeeewwww cat!" Then the older one yelled, "That's so mean!" Oh, the drama around here.

Then later in the day I had the itch to shoot some photos. The lighting was perfect but my little man was just too busy for me. I moved on to my 5-year-old. She is home from school because she had a fever yesterday. Totally fine today, but gotta follow that 24-hour rule! Not only was she too busy for me, but she wouldn't even go for a bribe. AT ALL. She's so stubborn. Just like me. Which I have a feeling is going to cause some major problems when she's a teen. Total paybacks I know. So I had to settle on playing with some older pics of my little man, back when he wasn't too mobile.

Love these pictures. Baby McDreamy for sure!

Maternity shoot

Here's some recent maternity pictures. They are so adorable together. Very in love, caring, and it totally came across in the pictures. Plus, she's a gorgeous mom-to-be. How cute does she look in the pic against the bricks? I just loved that outfit -- from the top down to the shoes.

Brand new little model

Baby "S" was sooooo sweet. She was such a little trooper as we posed her, stripped her, and took away her pacifier. Poor thing just really wanted to snuggle up to momma and go to sleep, but we just wouldn't leave her alone. Such is the life of a little model! Hope you enjoy Whitney!

P.S. I know the blanket colors look like little boy colors but I wanted to try it out anyway.

Tagged!

I was tagged by Megan to list 8 interesting things about myself. I've pondered this for a couple of days, and am having the HARDEST time. I'm gonna try and come up with something, but forgive me if it's not much!

1. I have a space between my big toes and the other 4 and my husband and friends have deemed me "clobster toes". My daughters were born with this cool feature as well and right after they were born I felt instantly better because I knew that they couldn't get accidentally switched around in the hospital because we'd KNOW BY THEIR TOES!

2. I hate hot dogs. I'll go to Sonic and order the hot dog coney meal with everything on it but then take out that yucky meat!

3. I've earned so many college credits that I should have a DR. in front of my name; however, I never finished any one degree. I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

4. When I was born my father called home to tell my older brother and sister. My brother(then 13) answered the phone and wouldn't let my sister talk to my dad. My dad told him that I had been born but that my mom had had to have me cesarean section because the cord was around my neck. Well, my brother got off the phone and having misunderstood my dad, told my sister that I was a serious infection! So, that's been another nickname of mine--serious infection.

(Ok, I'm running out of ideas here)!

5. I'm generally very laid back. But I'm OCD about having my closet clothes hung by type, color, long-sleeve/short-sleeve, etc. Also OCD about the yard being edged perfectly or cards or dominoes laying totally straight in a game. It will literally drive me crazy it they're out of whack!

6. My husband and I met when we both worked at the YMCA. So, every time we're at a wedding and the song comes on it feels like it's "our song".

7. My mom has the book "The Strong-willed Child" and has always told me that she bought it for dealing with me when I was little. Yeah, I'm stubborn and strong willed, I'll admit it(haha). When I was a teenager, I wanted a horse, but we lived in a neighborhood with a small yard and my parents thought I was crazy. So, without telling them I went to the bank, got a loan(I think the loan officer thought I was a little crazy), bought a horse named Jake, and paid to have him at some stables. I was literally working just to pay to have him. LOVED THAT HORSE though!

8. My sister and her family are missionaries in Chile, South America. She and her kids are all blonds with blues eyes and people are always surprised when they find out that they speak Spanish.

Whew! That was really hard. Thanks if you read this far!! I'm supposed to tag 4 more but I think that pretty much everyone's been tagged.

Here's a pic of Cass from this weekend. I have to tell her not to smile now because she's moved on to that cheesy smile they all get. AAACCKK!!
